POPULAR ACTIVITIES & CLUBS
Meadow Street Garden Club
Students at Immanuel Lutheran School have been getting their hands dirty and learning about God’s creation through gardening. The club maintains a garden at the corner of the gymnasium entrance and gardens throughout the church and school campus. Caterpillars are collected each fall from the gardens for classrooms to witness their amazing transformations and release into the garden. Vegetables grown in the garden are available to the neighborhood.
Track & Field
Students in grades 4-8 are able to participate in Track and Field at Immanuel Lutheran School. The track and field events include relays, running, softball throw, broad jump and long jump. Track and Field meets take place at Immanulate High School at 73 Southern Blvd, Danbury, CT. For more information on practice times and meets, please contact the office.
Basketball
Girls and Boys Basketball at Immanuel Lutheran School includes elementary (4-6) and middle school teams (6-8). Our 3rd graders are allowed to play if they are able to keep up with the older players. The middle school teams allow 5th graders to play up if they are able. Immanuel Lutheran plays other Christian schools in the area who play fair, and do not play over-age players. Because we do have a gym, the majority of our games are at home as many of our competitors do not have that luxury. Each game is preceded by prayer and a statement of good sportsmanship for players and spectators.
Cheerleading
Cheerleading at Immanuel Lutheran School includes students in grades 4-8. Practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school during the basketball season. The girls cheer only at the home games which take place at Immanuel Lutheran School. Please contact the office for more information or to connect with the cheerleading coaches.
PTO Sponsored Activities
We have an active PTO that organizes exciting annual activities such as our annual Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Nerf Night, Family Move night, Book Fair, Ice Cream Truck Field Day, and other family events. Parents are encouraged to join the PTO to continue our long legacy of community activities for the families of our school and church.
